BIS Abu Dhabi Graduate Interview

BIS Abu Dhabi Graduate Interview Isabelle - BIS Abu Dhabi Graduate Interview Isabelle
Meet Isabelle, Class of 2025 BTEC Extended Diploma Graduate

Isabelle joined the BIS Abu Dhabi family in August 2016. Over the past eight years, she has grown into a confident, creative, and purpose-driven student, graduating this year with D*DD in the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business and a Grade 5 in the IB Diploma Programme Higher Level English Language & Literature.

Reflecting on her results, she shared, “I feel incredibly proud to have achieved D*DD in BTEC and a Grade 5 in English. BTEC gave me such a strong foundation, especially in marketing, and I thoroughly recommend the blended course approach. It’s a great way to explore your strengths while staying focused on future career paths.”

This autumn, Isabelle will be heading to the University of Brighton to study Marketing Management, a course that aligns perfectly with her passions and talents. “I reviewed all my offers carefully and chose the University of Brighton because of its practical course content, creative focus, and beautiful seaside setting. Brighton reminds me of home in Abu Dhabi, close to the water, vibrant, and full of life.”

One of the aspects Isabelle appreciated most about the BTEC programme was its real-world relevance. “The assessment approach meant I wasn’t just sitting exams, I was planning and delivering real projects that made a difference. From leading environmental days, to ‘One People One Planet’ initiatives, to fundraising for Tanzania expeditions, these experiences were powerful, practical, and taught me the kind of teamwork, organisation, and leadership you use in real jobs. It made learning more meaningful and helped me realise how much I enjoy working with people to create impact.”

As Isabelle looks ahead to university, she’s excited to begin a subject she truly loves. “I’m a people person, and marketing is a natural fit for me. I’ve already connected with future course mates, and I can’t wait to collaborate creatively in a subject I’m passionate about.”

In the future, Isabelle hopes to work in purpose-driven marketing, where creativity meets community impact. “I’m passionate about giving back and hope to work in a role that blends creativity with meaning, making a difference through the work I do.”

One of her most transformative experiences at BIS Abu Dhabi was the Tanzania service trip. “It taught me the value of community, empathy, and purpose.” She also credits BIS Abu Dhabi for giving her a sense of belonging and lifelong friendships: “I carry a deep sense of pride in having been a BIS Abu Dhabi student. It’s more than just a school, it’s a family.”

When asked what she’ll miss most, her answer was clear: “The people, the community, and the feeling of belonging. BIS Abu Dhabi has been such a big part of my life, and I’ll always be grateful for the memories. I hope to return as part of the BIS Abu Dhabi Alumni and give back to our incredible school.”

Congratulations, Isabelle! Your drive, warmth, and creativity will no doubt take you far. Brighton is lucky to have you, and we can’t wait to see how you use marketing to make a difference in the world.
